Of all the major Cognacs, Martell is the oldest and whose success owes much to its distinctive, smooth and nutty flavour. Martell V.S.O.P Medaillon (Very Superior Old Pale) is exceptionally smooth and mellow,due to the skilled & prudent blending of mature eaux-de-vie from the four principal growing areas of the Charente. Its fullness holds up well to ice or mixing. The label bears a gold medallion engraved with the portrait of Louis XIV, in the last year of whose reign (1715) Martell was founded.
